How to Prepare
Please call the Laboratory at 216-382-9705 to schedule an appointment for a Glucose or Insulin Tolerance test. As a safety precaution, be prepared to stay on the premises until the test is complete.

One-Hour Post Glucose Test

1. Please pick up a bottle of Glucola in the Laboratory` in Suite 011.
2. Refrigerate the Glucola at home.
3. Wait at least two hours after eating before you drink the Glucola. Drink the entire bottle over a period of no more than five minutes. Do not use ice. Do not eat, smoke or chew gum after drinking the Glucola.
4. Forty-five (45) minutes after drinking the Glucola, please report back to the Laboratory and register at the front desk. Exactly one hour after drinking the Glucola, your blood will be drawn.
5. Please bring the laboratory requisition provided by your doctor.

Two-Hour Post Glucose Test

1. Please pick up a bottle of Glucola in the Laboratory` in Suite 011.
2. Refrigerate the Glucola at home.
3. Wait at least two hours after eating before you drink the Glucola. Drink the entire bottle over a period of no more than five minutes. Do not use ice. Do not eat, smoke or chew gum after drinking the Glucola.
4. About 1 hour and 45 minutes after drinking the Glucola, please report back to the Laboratory and register at the front desk. Exactly two hours after drinking the Glucola, your blood will be drawn.
5. Please bring the laboratory requisition provided by your doctor.
