Senator's District Director Visits Health Center
[SOUTH EUCLID, OH]. -- [September 30], 2005 - As Congress debates Medicare changes in the coming months that may affect ambulatory surgery centers, the Wright Surgery Center (WSC) became involved in the political process. Its management team invited Dora Pruce, District Director for the office of Senator George Voinovich, to visit and learn about the value and importance of ambulatory surgery centers and to show that the WSC is a progressive and cost-effective component of our local health care system. Ms. Pruce toured the WSC and GI suites and met with it's management team on September 30. She later reported her findings to Senator Voinovich.

The aim to teach policymakers about the value of surgery centers is a grassroots effort led by the American Association of Ambulatory Surgery Centers (AAASC), of which the WSC is a member. The AAASC is the national association dedicated to advancing high quality, physician-led and patient-centered care in ambulatory surgery centers.

As of September 30, the WSC was the only surgery center in the State of Ohio that was visited by Voinovich's office.
